City police detained an individual in custody until he sobered up, after the intoxicated man came to the police station at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday.
The previous evening, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 100 block of High Street East on Friday at 6:20 p.m., involving a local police vehicle and another vehicle. There were no injuries and one vehicle had to be towed. The incident is still under investigation.
Those were just two of 54 calls to which Moose Jaw Police Service responded between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
At 5:15 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a complaint of a break-in on the 1000 block of Second Avenue Northeast, in which an undisclosed amount of money was taken. The incident is still under investigation.
There were no injuries, but a two-vehicle collision on the corner of Main Street North and Athabasca Street East at 5:24 p.m. on Friday resulted in one tow, one charge for disobeying a red light, another charge for driving a vehicle without an operating license, as well as causing $15,000 damage.
At 6:51 p.m. on Friday, police warned a person on the 600 block of Hochelaga Street West about harassing via text message.
At 10:37 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of hit and run on the 1200 block of Main Street North, which caused $200 damage. That incident is still under investigation.
When police responded to the 200 block of Coteau Street West at 11:24 p.m. on Friday in response to a loud party, they ended up arresting someone on outstanding warrants.
Police charged a driver on the 900 block of Caribou Street West at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
