Another hunting season is upon us.
Rion White, Orion Taxidermy owner, said his Moose Jaw business is always busy mounting kills from local and international hunters, conducting upwards of 400 to 500 mounts a year.
However, he told the Times-Herald with hunting season upon southern Saskatchewan once again, he expects to get a lot busier in the weeks ahead — especially with the size of deer this year.
“There’s so much vegetation for them to eat,” White said, adding all the moisture this year has provided a lot of lush green food for local Cervidae and the animals have grown bigger than usual.
Darrell Crabbe, Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF) executive director, said now is definitely a good time for hunters to pick up SWF memberships.
