Two Regina men will be pushing their way to success at the weekend by longboarding along the Trans-Canada Highway to Moose Jaw.
Kyle Bates, 23, and Anthony Worfolk, 27, are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Longboarding is an unusual sport, according to Worfolk.
He said it’s like a skateboard but longer and made for travelling distances instead of for tricks and spins.
“It’s more for travelling from place to place,” he said.
The pair began longboarding after Bates picked up the sport in California when he was doing some missionary work for the pair’s church — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Regina.
“For myself, it’s an activity,” Worfolk said. “I enjoy being outside and active and I find it relaxing and enjoy being able to go out and cruise the streets,” he said.
“We have been longboarding together for about a year and we thought we would do a long trip and decided to raise money as well.”
