A farmer’s market for charity and perennial swap meet will be held at the Yara Community Gardens on Sept. 11.
If you have perennials you’d like to split this is a great opportunity as well as to trading for perennials you don’t have.
All split plants must be potted and labelled, preferably in one gallon pots.
For every potted plant dropped off, you will receive a token or ticket, which will enable you to purchase another potted plant on market day.
Plants can be dropped off at the Yara Community Gardens on the 200 block of Home Street West from 5:30 p.m. to 7 :30 p.m. on Wednesday or Thursday or on Sept. 11 at 7:30 a.m.
The farmer’s market for charity will run, rain or shine, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
There will be pesticide-free fresh produce, home made baked goodies, creative face-painting and a pancake breakfast.
Half of all proceeds will be donated to Hunger in Moose Jaw and the Riverside Mission and the other half will go towards the growth of the Yara Community Gardens program.
