“It’s been phenomenal.”

That’s how Glenn Haug, advertising director for the Times-Herald, summed up our campaign with Staples Business Depot to collect school supplies for both the Holy Trinity Catholic Separate School Division and the Prairie South School Division.

Moose Jaw’s citizens have been so generous that 28 huge boxes have been split between the divisions and there’s still more to be delivered.

The aim is to help families who might find it difficult to purchase the necessary school supplies.

The campaign has been running for about eight or nine years and people can either donate supplies or money.

People can still bring supplies to the Times-Herald as even though children are back at school, Haug said students still need equipment throughout the year.

“We have delivered so far 28 boxes . . . and we still have some to be delivered and Staples still has $300-400 to buy stuff so we will have another 10 boxes at least.”

Haug said he would have loved to deliver everything at one time but thought it was important to get items to the schools as quickly as possible.

“People can still keep dropping items off as we will still keep taking out there,” he said.

Haug praised Staples for their hard work on the project.
