24-year-old man in court in connection with boating accident

A 24-year-old Moose Jaw man has appeared in court in connection with a boating collision which occurred at Buffalo Pound Lake at the start of August.

Anthony Braniff made a first appearance at Moose Jaw’s provincial court on Wednesday.

He is charged with operating a vessel with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 causing bodily harm and impaired driving causing bodily harm on Aug.7.

Cpl. Alan Vanthuine, court liaison for the Moose Jaw RCMP detachment, said Braniff represented himself in court and requested an adjournment.

He will next appear in court on Oct. 6.

Would be nice to see them patroling this lake on a regular basis not just after an incident like this one. Seems to be more and more everyday where it's become acceptable to drink on the boat or in the car. Enforcement has really tapered off in recent years in the water and on our roads.
