The Moose Jaw Health Foundation and Moose Jaw Businessmen’s Club announced Friday morning that they have come together for a very special project at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.
Committing $40,000 to creating, not one, but two Saskatchewan Roughrider theme rooms in the pediatrics ward at the union hospital, Dr. Mark Mullen said the club is thrilled to be a part of this project.
He said the money for the project will come from the club's annual Lobster Fest, which will be held Sept. 25.
He said being that next year’s lobster night will be the club's 10th celebration, it wanted to do something special and create a legacy project that would benefit the children of Moose Jaw.
Kelly McElree, executive director of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, said it is projects like this that make his job that much more special.
He said not only does the project have this wonderful support from the Businessmen’s Club, but also from the Roughriders themselves.
McElree and Mullen said they hope to see the project complete by fall 2011.
