Moose Jaw family physician Dr. Kevin Dautremont is one of 37 writers from across Canada to be selected to be part of a new anthology A Second Cup of Hot Apple Cider.
Dautremont, who practices at the Ross Street Medical Clinic, was the winner of The Word Guild’s Award for the Best New Canadian Christian Writer of 2008.
The anthology, edited by N.J.Lindquist and Wendy Elaine Nelles, will be launched across Canada this spring.
The first book Hot Apple Cider introduced readers to Canadian writers who are Christian.
The second volume contains more than 50 stories, including real-life experience, drama, humour and poetry.
Dautremont’s story, Dazed, tells the fictional tale of the struggles, disappointments and excitement of married life on a small Saskatchewan farm.
“I wrote the piece about six months ago. It’s a short story. It’s about a married couple on a small Saskatchewan farm having struggles with their marriage,” he told the Times-Herald.

Way to go, Kevin. Just one of the first of many publications from your desk.
