The train is coming and Western Development Museum (WDM) is anxiously awaiting its triumphant return.
“We’re very excited about this,” Moose Jaw WDM manager Katherine Fitton told the Times-Herald on Tuesday.
After a two-year absence due to boiler replacement in Saskatoon, the WDM Short Line 101 is returning to the Friendly City, with an official celebration of the steam engine locomotive at 1 p.m. on June 18 on the museum grounds.
Fitton said Short Line 101 would offer free rides throughout its official welcome home party, which is open to the public. As well, she said the train would resume summer weekend service throughout the summer.
“This is hugely important to us.”
