Marianas Trench frontman Josh Ramsay belts out the verse of Ever After during the Moose Jaw stop of the band's Face the Music tour Wednesday, April 10.
The show drew a crowd of more than 2,000 to see the Canadians, as well as their opening acts Anami Vice and Down With Webster.
Hip-hop artist Anami Vice, who was discovered by Marianas Trench frontman Josh Ramsay, kicked the show off on a high note by declaring that he and his group was "here to party," eliciting cheers from the audience.
Toronto rap rockers Down With Webster capitalized on the early energy by taking the stage waving a flag emblazoned with their band's logo and engaging the audience with a spirited performance that had attendees waving their cell phones in the air, clapping and performing their own renditions of the Harlem Shake during an energetic drum solo by band member "Marty" Martino.
"If you're with a girl and you've ever wanted to make a move on her, now's your chance," said "Bucky" Seja, one of the band's vocalists, declared before telling the men in the audience to lift their girlfriends up on their shoulders and kicking off a spirited performance of hit single Your Man.
Down With Webster commanded the audience, eliciting heavy cheering and cat-calling before surrendering the stage to headliners Marianas Trench.
Josh Ramsay, the frontman of the group, arrived on stage in a large gift box out of which he was hoisted and suspended from the building's rafters while he performed the opening verse of Ever After, the title track off the band's third album.
Ramsay was eventually lowered to the stage, and was joined by band members for the remainder of the song, but he routinely surrendered singing duties to the spirited audience, who happily obliged and filled in.
The band rounded out the night with performances of other tracks from Ever After and their previous albums, attempting to weave a story with short videos that played out on a screen behind them.
Marianas Trench, Down With Webster and Anami Vice make their next stop in the Face the Music Tour in Vancouver April 12. They will perform in Saskatoon April 19.
