Moose Jaw fire and police services responded to a call of a townhouse on fire in South Hill late Sunday afternoon.
Cory Chow lives in the townhouse beside the suite where the fire started. He was home at the time with his two children.
"I was on the balcony and I saw smoke in the reflection of the other place and some people nearby said the house next door was on fire. So I grabbed the kids and got out of the house," said Chow.
Chow's wife, Nadine, said she was on her way home from work when her husband called her about five minutes before 5 p.m. to let her know what was happening.
"I got the call saying my house was on fire," said Nadine.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., the Chow family was allowed back into their residence.
An inspector was on scene, but police and fire said the cause of the fire and the amount of damage it caused is still under investigation.
