Late Wednesday the City of Moose Jaw announced it had begun work on a new accessible water spray park and playground for Elgin Park, located in the city’s northwest.
Made possible by matching grant funding from the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) and the City of Moose Jaw, approximately $277,000 will go into revamping the new park.
In the release it said the project would include a new accessible play structure and water park, which will replace the current aging pool and playground.
Demolition of the old play structure is currently underway and the paddling will follow within the next couple of weeks.
The project is expected to be complete near the end of October and ready to open summer of 2014.
