June Draude, Minister of Social Services, addresses the supporters of the Valley View Centre on Wednesday at the Premier's Barbecue.
"By accepting (the Transition Steering Committee's) recmmendations, we are putting the people living at Valley View first — something we promised to do at the start of this process," said June Draude, minister of social services, in a release.
The report, released in May, contained recommendations to assure a smooth transition for each of the VVC's 197 residents.
Draude is in Moose Jaw Monday to break the ground on a new residence that will be operated by the ministry.
The residence "will provide assessment and short-term stabilization supports as well as supports for individuals transitioning to their future home," the release said.
