Wakamow was a busy place Thursday playing host to Kids Day.
Wakamow Valley was supposed to host a handful of inaugural tours over the summer months, but that inauguration will have to wait until next summer.
"We had great plans on doing tours," said Wakamow Valley director of community relations and fundraising Crystal Froese.
Those plans, however, fell by the wayside.
This is the first year Wakamow Valley had taken over operations of the on-site campground. Froese admitted they were just not able to organize the tours enough to get them started.
The plan is to now get them rolling in 2014.
"The idea is to develop them a little bit more and work out a better schedule so we can actually host them for next summer.
"The plans for next year is to operate them a couple of times during the day. We are just looking further into which days would be the busier ones, probably closer to the weekend because that's when, obviously, we have most of our campers in," said Froese.
She noted that the historical locations throughout the park will be featured on the tours.
With the River Park Campground being so busy this summer, and continuing into the fall, Froese doesn't see any reason why the tours will not be popular next summer when another host of patrons pay a visit.
