Freddie and Sheila Pelletier will be returning to the Mae Wilson Theatre at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre (MJCC) for their sixth Singin’, Pickin’ & Grinnin’ show since last September.
The latest installment of the show will take place this Saturday at 7 p.m., and this time around their special guest is local musician Kelly Bourdages and his band Trick Ryder.
“Having these special guests coming in all the time really adds a lot of variety to our programming,” said MJCC marketing co-ordinator Mandy Higgins. “We've got a constant host so we've also got some name recognition going on with Freddie and Sheila.”
From Birch Hills, Sask., the Pelletiers play country, folk, roots, traditional and bluegrass music.
On Saturday they will open the show before Trick Ryder takes the stage.
They will conclude a night of music by performing on stage altogether.
According to Higgins, it has been the Pelletiers' responsibility to find a guest to play with them each time they have performed in the Mae Wilson Theatre.
As a born-and-raised Moose Javian, Bourdages — a guitarist — is known by a lot of people in the city and Higgins is hoping that translates into a more populous auditorium on Saturday evening.
“We usually get a pretty good crowd. At least half of the theatre is full each time,” noted Higgins. “Of course we are always looking for more people to come.”
Tickets for the show can still be purchased at the MJCC box office for $20 plus taxes, or online at www.moosejawculture.com.
