On Tuesday, the local grocery store was awarded the Saskatchewan/Manitoba/Northern Ontario Regional Award for Top Independent Grocer of the Year in the Small Surface Category.
The award was one of many handed out at the 51st Annual Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year (CGIF) Awards Ceremony in Toronto. The ceremony was held in front of a gala audience of over 500 leading grocers, suppliers and distributors at Grocery Innovations Canada 2013, the country's premier grocery conference and trade show.
One of South Hill's grocery managers was on hand to accept the award on behalf of Harry and Shannon Watson, Dana Loughheed and Perry Chambers.
The Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year is the most prestigious award the CGIF.
