Members of the Saskatchewan Dragoons will conduct the annual Battle Fitness Test Sunday afternoon in Moose Jaw.
The test will begin at 1:30 p.m. and conclude at approximately 3:50 p.m.
During the test members of the Canadian Forces Army Reserve will march approximately 13 kilometers carrying a tactical vest, helmet, rucksack and service riffle.
The group will begin the test at the D.V. Currie Armoury, march along Laurier Street to Ninth Avenue Northwest, then heading north to Thatcher Drive and then west to Caribou Street, after which they will return to the armoury.
Although they will be using the walking trails around the city as much as possible, they will be marching for short distances on residential streets.
As for the rifles they will be carrying, in a news release it said “members of the public should not be concerned about soldiers carrying the rifle within the city as no ammunition, blank or live, will be carried during the event.
There are 45 soldiers participating in the event, which must be completed in two hours and 26 minutes.
