One of the highlights of the Moose Jaw Lodge’s centennial celebration will be the annual Elks Provincial Walkathon.
This year marks the 38th edition of the walkathon, which raises money for the Saskatchewan Pediatric Auditory Rehabilitation Centre (SPARC).
Not only does SPARC assist parents in understanding and coping with their child’s hearing loss, but it also aids them in developing effective communication strategies with their children with hearing loss.
With the help of the Elks, SPARC has worked with more than 525 families from all over the province since they began their partnership in 1976.
This year’s event is different compared to years past, in that it will feature a short two-kilometer tour of several murals in the city’s downtown.
Members of the public are welcome to join the professionally commentated tour, as well as give donations to support SPARC.
The walkathon is part of the Moose Jaw Lodge's 100th anniversary celebration. Read more here.
