Justin McLeod of Regina was only in Moose Jaw for a couple of days “at most” before being arrested for cocaine trafficking.

“It’s not unusual to have an out-of-town person roll into town to set up shop briefly for that purpose,” said Sgt. Cliff Froehlich of the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS).

Police executed a search warrant on Nov. 27 of a building on the zero block of Manitoba Street East, according to a MJPS press release. The building was not a residence.

“The investigation came together pretty quick,” Froehlich said.

Members of the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) seized approximately $6,000 worth of drugs and numerous weapons including a sword, machete and a retractable baton.

McLeod was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon (baton) and proceeds of crime under $5,000.

An adult male and an adult female were arrested with McLeod, but were released without being charged.

The investigation is still ongoing.
