Moose Jaw among communities to receive policing money

Moose Jaw will receive $315,000 for targeted policing initiatives, the Government of Saskatchewan announced Monday.

This funding supports police-based efforts to reduce crime, victimization and intervention of at-risk populations, according to a press release.

Moose Jaw is one of nine communities to receive a total of more than $13.6-million to continue targeted police initiatives.

Moose Jaw, Estevan and Yorkton all received the same amount.

Weyburn received $210,000 and was the only community to receive less money than Moose Jaw, Estevan and Yorkton.

Regina and Saskatoon received more than $4-million each. Prince Albert received nearly $2-million, and Meadow Lake and North Battleford received $735,000 each.
