At approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) attempted to stop a vehicle along the 400 block of Second Avenue Northwest.
After refusing to stop for police, the driver abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. MJPS attempted to arrest the suspect at a residence, but again he fled on foot.
However, with the assistance from members of the K9 unit, the suspect was apprehended a short time later.
While investigating the vehicle the suspect left behind, MJPS recovered a shotgun and ammunition.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was charged with numerous firearm offences, flight from police and parole violation.
This matter remains under investigation, but the man is being held in MJPS custody until he appears in court.
