One of the youths allegedly involved in a bear spray assault was denied bail at Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday.

All three of the accused were supposed to appear in court for bail hearings, but only two had obtained legal counsel. They were remanded in custody since Dec. 27.

The Crown was opposed to the release of both youths on Thursday, but Judge Doug Kovatch granted bail to one of the accused males.

A publication ban was granted concerning details of the two bail hearings.

Relating to a Dec. 26 incident, the three teenagers face a total of 16 charges, including assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and several breaches of court order charges.

A release from Moose Jaw police said members responded to a complaint at a residence where people were allegedly assaulted with bear spray.

After a short foot chase, the suspects were apprehended by police.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the incident.
