The third of three male youths facing charges relating to a Boxing Day bear spray assault was remanded in custody until Tuesday.

The other two accused, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had bail hearings on Thursday. The Crown was opposed to the release of both youths, but Judge Doug Kovatch granted bail to one of the accused and denied bail to another.

All three were in custody since Dec. 27.

The three teenagers face a total of 16 charges, including assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and several breaches of court order charges.

Moose Jaw police, in a release, said members responded to a complaint at a residence where people were allegedly assaulted with bear spray. A machete was also involved, but not used.

After a short foot chase, the suspects were apprehended by police.

There were no serious injuries.
