Two student companies presented big cheques to charities on Thursday.

The Vanier Collegiate Entrepreneur 30 class, comprised of 18 students, split into groups and created their companies to sell their products.

Olympia, which sold bath salts and related products, donated $525.35 to the Moose Jaw Transition House.

The other company, Snack Shack, donated $296 to the Moose Jaw Humane Society.

"If anything they've learned that this class is different than many others," said teacher Christa LaPointe. "There's a lot of work, but a different type of work and typically the students, due to the fact that it's so much hands-on and they're the ones selling, they're the ones creating the product, they have control over it, they actually take a lot more ownership of their learning and business."
