A community meeting to discuss the province’s sale of 114 social housing units and the replacement of those units with high-density apartment blocks was held at Moose Jaw’s city hall Tuesday night. “It was because they needed maintenance and improvements done to them,” said Sharon Bourdeau, a representative of the Moose Jaw Housing Authority, which organized the meeting. — Jan. 30, 2013

Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 32 calls for service between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday including reports of: dangerous driving, mischief, a recovered stolen vehicle, two hit and runs, an unwanted guest, threats, a dispute, a suspicious vehicle and theft under $5,000.
Police received a request to assist locating a female who had left Union Hospital. She was located and taken back to the hospital before leaving again. She was located again, taken back to the hospital, released by a doctor and taken to her parents’ house for the night.
Police are still investigating reports of: theft from a motor vehicle, threats, a dispute, drug trafficking, a male with an airsoft gun and mischief.
Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on 400 Main Street North that resulted in no injuries, one towed vehicle, approximately $10,000 damage and one ticket issued for driving without due care and attention.
Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Lillooet Street East for an active alarm.
