For Mayor Deb Higgins, the last day of the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention had a lot to do with health. She said she spent a good part of the morning on Wednesday talking with provincial health minister Dustin Duncan. The four-day convention began in Saskatoon on Sunday and ended Wednesday. “I asked him about the issue with the hyperbaric unit and what was going to happen there,” said Higgins. “His comments were that it was used a number of times.” — Feb. 7, 2013

Police calls

Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 32 calls for service between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday including three parking complaints, an unwanted guest, a disturbance, a fire call and a dispute.

Police are still investigating a report of a male subject going through garbage on the 500 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest.

Police responded to a two vehicle collision that resulted in one minor injury, $20,000 damage and one ticket issued for driving without due care and attention.


Fire calls

Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to two service calls between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Headquarters station responded to sounding alarms.

Headquarters and Lillooet station responded to the 1300 block of Athabasca Street West for a fire in a house that caused minor damage.
