Moose Jaw businesses are taking the initiative, launching a destination marketing fund to promote themselves and the Friendly City.
A group of five partners are incorporating an organization named the Moose Jaw Destination Marketing Fund Partnership Inc to oversee the fund.
Temple Gardens, Heritage and Comfort Inns, the Grant Hall Hotel and Mosaic Place are in the vanguard for the initiative, with a one per cent levy coming into effect on monthly room revenues in the aforementioned hotels effective Mar. 1.
Mosaic Place will contribute to the fund from conferencing fees, according to Doug Campbell, its business director.
Funds raised by the levies will be used to promote Moose Jaw and its businesses.
The organization will be incorporated Apr. 1, and the partners in the group said they will approach other businesses to sign on.
