The 15 Wing Fellowship is sponsoring an eclectic night for music lovers at Timothy Eaton Gardens.
"We have a whole array of musical entertainment from the community. We have large and small groups — I think we have about ten," said Gord Johnson, one of the event's organizers. "And we're going to have draws and door prizes, too. And 50/50 raffles. It's going to be quite exciting."
The music night is the first event of its type to be hosted by the 15 Wing Fellowship, a group that Johnson said is still "in our infancy."
"We've only been in existence for about three years," he explained. "Of the 32 bases in Canada, only three others have a fellowship … we're sort of an auxiliary that does community projects where we can use our personnel to raise money."
Among the performers scheduled for the show are the Band City Band, Rhythm and Drive, Michelle Gallagher, the Heritage Singers and James Winter.
The show is a benefit for the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) at 15 Wing, which Johnson described as "a support group for the families" of those stationed at the base.
The show will be held March 8 from 7 to 10 p.m. and is open to all ages. It's free, but organizers are asking for a donation to the centre.
