Change was on the agenda for Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners held at City Hall. Announcements of retirement were made, along with a signing of oath of office from a new member to the board. City clerk/solicitor of Myron Gulka-Tiechko swore onto the board councillor Patrick Boyle, who will be replacing councillor Candis Kirkpatrick. – March 13, 2013

Fire calls

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to two calls between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, including the large fire that affected businesses and residences along the zero block of High Street West. Damage is extensive.

 

Police calls

The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 48 calls for service between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, including four 911 calls, one dispute, damage to two vehicles, two intoxicated adult males and two hit and runs that are still under investigation.

A charge of marijuana possession resulted after a complaint of a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the 400 block of 14 Avenue Northwest. The subject was released to appear in court at a later date.

Police also responded to the large fire that consumed businesses and residences on the zero block of High Street West. Emergency crews are still on scene.
