Moose Jaw Provincial Court

Robert Amell will have another year to pay off over $20,000 in fines.

Amell, who was convicted in 2010 for tax evasion in the amount of $18,616.12 over three years (2003 to 2006) and falsely claiming $1,717.65 in GST, appeared in provincial court Wednesday to make an application to pay his fines with community service hours.

Judge Douglas Kovatch awarded Amell an extra year to pursue fine option alternatives.

The Times-Herald will have more on the proceedings later today.
