Mike LoVecchio, director of government affairs with Canadian Pacific, addresses executive committee with information on CP's operations safety within the community at the March 17, 2014 meeting.

When it comes to contractor safety, the important message is to “Call Before You Dig” and “Look Up and Live.”

That was the message of the Contractor Safety Awareness Association (CSAA), along with the Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance (SCGA) convey at their breakfasts in Saskatchewan.

The first breakfast of the year was in Moose Jaw at the Heritage Inn on Thursday morning. There were 400 attendees.

Breakfast guests included construction workers, supervisors, business owners, emergency responders, rural municipalities and anyone else associated with ground disturbance of overhead lines.

Before digging, workers should call Sask. 1st Call at 1-866-828-4888 to avoid hitting any utility lines.
