City 'disappointed' in timing of suit: solicitor

The owners of Town 'n' Country Mall are taking legal action to stop the Civic Centre Plaza project.

Crews work away at the Civic Centre Plaza site in 2012.

A civil lawsuit initiated in November by TNC Mall Properties Holdings Incorporated — the owners of the mall — is seeking damages and a permanent injunction to prevent the construction of any buildings on the former Civic Centre grounds.

I agree that the issue is not parking. The current owners of the Town n Country are grasping at straws and want to do whatever they can to limit competition in their own backyard. Perhaps having more people go to that area when the "new mall" is constructed may turn out to be good for their business. There is a reason that fast food outlets are always next to each other.

the mall has been dying a slow death for years. The owners would be better off selling it to the new developers. We need new stores and restaurants and they dont want to be in the mall. Malls went out of style 15 years ago . The issue here isnt parking or visibilty its competition .You can go to the mall any day and there is more than 60 % of the parking lot empty. When the new stores and restaurants open there will be even less people going to the mall .Times they are a changing even in Moose Jaw.
