Splash'N Boots (Nick Adams, left, and Taes Leavitt, right) will perform at the Mae Wilson Theatre on Sunday.
The group, consisting of Nick Adams (Splash) and Taes Leavitt (Boots), have been "on the children's music scene for about 10 years," said Adams.
"It was our full-time job right out of university and we've been fortunate enough to perform about 1,500 shows now," he said.
The pair love entertaining children, added Adams, as well as interacting with them after gigs.
"It's the best. One of our favourite things to do is meet the kids and their families," he said. "What's happened, I think, is Splash'N Boots has become a family thing. They listen to us in the car, in the house, on the computer. … All across the country, it seems, we've generated this fan base and they're so passionate."
That passion takes different forms. Sometimes, it is expressed in e-mails to the band.
"We constantly get them, especially with pictures or video of a kid dancing to our music that they want to share with us," said Adams. "That's why we do this. … It has always been about the kids."
On Sunday, Adams and Leavitt's show will be all about Moose Jaw's kids when the pair take the Mae Wilson Theatre stage, fresh off a Juno nomination.
"We haven't done a proper Splash'N Boots show there, so this will be a first for us," said Adams. "We're very excited."
