Coun. Patrick Boyle explains why he believes the speculative housing program should be cancelled at the April 7, 2014 council meeting at city hall.
“It’s another means to provide the openness and transparency of council,” said Heather Walker, of the City of Moose Jaw. “Now basically anyone with an internet connection is able to watch the meetings.”
Regular meetings were already broadcasted on Shaw TV. However, viewers had to have a Shaw TV subscription to watch the meetings. Now the audience will be broader.
“It will still be live on ShawTV. What the viewers see on Shaw, that is what you will now see on the internet,” said Walker.
The new ability to livestream council meetings was made possible after council passed a motion to upgrade the audiovisual equipment in the council chambers.
Citizens will find the livetream and archives of previous meetings on www.moosejaw.ca.
