REGINA – When k.d. lang was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, she stressed the importance of individualism. “It’s OK to let your freak flags fly,” she said in her speech at Sunday’s Juno Awards in Regina. “Embrace the quirkmeister that is inside all of us.” Anne Murray inducted the singer into the Hall of Fame. After the event concluded, lang told reporters her inspiration for her speech came from life. “Everybody’s a freak,” she said. “I just really think that Canada’s a special place.” – April 22, 2013

The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 33 calls for service between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, including four 911 calls, two cases of harassment, two disputes, one mischief and four thefts, three of which are still under investigation and the other which resulted in a charge of possession of stolen property.
Police also responded to an assault in Crescent Park, which remains under investigation.
Police also responded to a dangerous driver complaint in which a child was hanging out of the window. An investigation is pending.
