Mosaic Place is seen the evening of July 24, 2013.
There are 12 items left on the deficiency and warranty list for Mosaic Place.
Hockey Capital Moose Jaw Ltd. (HCL) are primarily working on heating levels in the curling rink, including enhancements to the system, and dealing with inconsistent lighting in the arena, mostly under the score clock. New lighting has been installed and so have lenses under the score clock.
All of the warranty and deficiency items for YaraCentre have been completed and HCL has been paid out. Landscaping around the installation of catch basins on the storm sewer on the east side of the building will be finished this spring.
The contingency remaining to complete the project is $239,492, which is the same as last month. Council received and filed the 45th report that was presented to council at Monday’s meeting.
Other items considered at Monday’s council meeting:
• Council appointed Coun. Patrick Boyle to the Moose Jaw economic development commission with a term beginning at once and ending on Aug. 31, 2015. Councillors accepted Boyle’s resignation from Tourism Moose Jaw, effective immediately.
• Councillors dealt with seven advisory committee reports. Those included the economic development commission, the environment advisory committee, the housing advisory committee, the transportation services advisory committee, the parks and recreation advisory committee, the heritage advisory committee and the special needs advisory committee.
• Coun. Brian Swanson was appointed deputy mayor; Boyle was appointed chairperson of the executive committee and Coun. Candis Kirkpatrick was appointed chairperson of the personnel committee. All terms begin on May 1 and end on June 30.
• Council passed a commercial and industrial tax phase-in bylaw and a property tax bylaw, but neither was passed unanimously and so both will return to be discussed again at the next council meeting.
