City proclaims May multiple sclerosis month

May is multiple sclerosis (MS) awareness month in Moose Jaw.

Mayor Deb Higgins signed the proclamation.

MS is prevalent in Saskatchewan with more than 3,500 people affected by it, according to the MS Society Saskatchewan branch.

In Canada, 100,000 people are affected by MS. It is the largest number of people in the world affected by MS.

There are a number of MS related events coming up to raise awareness for MS, including the MS Walk in Moose Jaw on May 4.
