Moose Jaw's Lindsey Konecsni, 16, towers above the rest during Gymtastiks cheerleading camp at Hillcrest Sports Centre on July 19, 2011.
Upgrading the Hillcrest Curling Building will be beneficial to the kids involved with Gymtastiks of Moose Jaw.
Gymtastiks has 300 members. Some of the upgrades are needed to enhance the members’ experience and the approximately 500 athletes who will attend the Provincial Gymnastics Competition from May 9 to 11. The competition will include men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics and tumbling and trampolining.
“(The money for upgrades) just provides a better facility and a better weekend for the kids,” said Amanda Adrian, secretary with the Gymtastiks of Moose Jaw.
Plumbing upgrades will cost about $4,700. Those upgrades will make washrooms, showers and the kitchen sink operational for regular use by Gymtastiks club and golf as well as to host the provincial meet.
