Ward to be sentenced June 23
After weeks of adjournments, significant progress was made at Moose Jaw Provincial Court Tuesday in the case of Amber Ward.

The 18-year-old – in custody since her alleged involvement in a March 19 home invasion on the 500 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest – finally admitted guilt.
In front of Judge Mat Saela, Ward appeared and pleaded guilty to one count of break, enter and robbery, one count of being masked while committing an indictable offence and one count of breach of undertaking.
Ward was also facing several other firearms-related charges, but they were either stayed or withdrawn, said Crown prosecutor Brian Hendrickson.
Further details of the hearing remain under publication ban and will remain so until Ward’s sentencing hearing: June 23.
“She will continue to be remanded in custody until sentencing,” said Hendrickson.
Aside from the home invasion-related charges, Ward also pleaded guilty to three drug possession charges – two marijuana and one cocaine – and two breaches from previous dates.
Ryan Tatum – one of two other individuals facing charges in connection with the home invasion – is scheduled to appear in court at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Like Ward, Tatum, 29, is also charged with break, enter and robbery, committing an indictable offence while masked and a slew of firearms charges.
Nicole Bouchard, 21, is not scheduled to appear in court until June 17.
