Two-year-old Cali Watson slides down an inflatable slide at the Moose Jaw YMCA on Sunday for Healthy Kids Day.

A donation by the Wakamow Rotary Club and the Rotary Club will help young kids have more equipment to play on.

The club’s recent $3,320-donation to the Moose Jaw YMCA will be used to purchase equipment for the early years indoor play space at the YMCA Strong Start Family Centre on South Hill.

“As a charity, we always look for funding,” said Sara Lyall, manager of human resources and administration at the YMCA. “We’ve been applying for grants and what not, I think for the equipment as it is, so every little bit helps.”

The equipment will allow families to have free play for kids aged zero to five.

“I think it’s very important because it give families that maybe can’t afford to go to various places a place to come and meet with other parents and just discuss their children, (while) their children can come and have fun and play,” said Lyall. “(The donation is) very helpful.”
