The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to one call for service between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, fire crews responded to the 1500 block of Cree Crescent for a medical assistance call.
The Moose Jaw Police Service received 51 calls for service between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, including three 911 calls, five parking bylaws, one other bylaw, two alarms, one warrant executed and six assists to another government agency.
At 1 p.m., police assisted the EMS with an overdose on the 1300 block of Gordon Road. A woman was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital for more information.
Police dealt with two shoplifting instances, one at the zero block of Thatcher Drive East and the other at the 200 block of First Avenue Northwest.
At the former location, police charged an adult woman with theft. At the latter, the female shoplifter left goods behind and fled on foot after being confronted. It is still under investigation.
There was also a break and enter to a garage and unlocked vehicle on the 100 block of Coteau Street West at 7:38 a.m. Nothing was taken and it is still under investigation.
However, at 1:37 p.m., on Tuesday, there was approximately $2,000 worth of items were stolen from a motor vehicle on the 500 block of High Street West. It is still under investigation.
Police dealt with a report of males in the park at the 1000 block of 12th Avenue Southwest with fireworks at 9:21 p.m. Police located two vehicles with youths in the area. After speaking with them, it was determined they weren’t causing any trouble.
Police mediated a dispute between family members at the 1000 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest. A dispute was also mediated at the 800 block of Cartier Avenue.
There was an assault at 9:38 p.m. at 11th Avenue Northwest at Caribou Street West. The parties were separated and the victim is unsure whether to pursue with charges.
At 5:23 p.m., the Moose Jaw Police Service also arrested and charged two men for thefts from two businesses in Regina.
Police dealt with a motor vehicle versus a pedestrian in Wakamow Valley. There were no injuries.
At 11th Avenue Northwest at Caribou Street West, police dealt with dangerous driving where an adult man wasn’t stopping at a crosswalk for kids to cross.
Police also issued a 24-hour license suspension at the 700 block of Main Street North for an adult man after an alert on an ASD Demand.
