Early Wenesday afternoon, Environment Canada issued several tornado watches for most of southern Saskatchewan, including the city of Moose Jaw.
The watch extends from the province's western border and past Indian Head. Among the communities under the watch are Swift Current, Assiniboia, Shaunavon, Davidson and Regina.
Nearby rural municipalities Baildon, Chaplin, Craik, Eyebrow and Redburn are also under the watch.
According to Environment Canada, tornado conditions have the possibility of forming late this afternoon, past midnight.
In the event of a tornado, Environment Canada recommended people take the following actions: go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, and away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelters, and moving to a strong building if at all possible.
The watches remain in effect as of 8:30 p.m.
