A look at police and fire calls from the last 24 hours.

Police calls

The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 68 calls for service between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, including eight 911 calls and three breaches of curfew.

Among the calls was a motor vehicle accident on the 800 block of Monk Avenue at 1:30 a.m. A vehicle hit a parked car and the male driver fled the scene on foot. It is still under investigation.

Police are investigating an assault on the 800 block of Hochelaga Street East at noon on Friday. They are also investigating an unwanted guest and assault at the 800 block of Seventh Avenue Northwest. The man left upon request.

On the 1300 block of Gordon Road, there was mischief to a vehicle with $1,000 damage.

Further, police are investigating theft of money on the zero block of High Street West.

Police dealt with six disputes. One of the disputes on the 100 block of Ominica Street West ended with police charging one person with assault.

Police mediated a dispute between neighbours on the 1000 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast and are investigating a dispute and threats on the 1100 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest.

Police received a report of an assault on the zero block of Wood Lily Drive between two individuals, but upon arrival, all parties involved were gone. There was also a dispute over property on the 1200 block of Gordon Road.

The other dispute was an unwanted guest on the 1100 block of Hochelaga Street West. A man was detained in cells and charges are pending.

Police dealt with three breaches of a court order, one with a female not home for curfew and two instances of males not home for curfew. Charges are pending in all three instances.

Moose Jaw Police Service members are also assisting locating a youth who didn’t show up for the house curfew. Units are on the lookout.

Police dealt with a noisy party with a noise bylaw warning and two other instances of noise bylaw. One person was warned about the bylaw and having an illegal fire pit and the other group of males was warned about the bylaw.

A man received a 24-hour license suspension and was charged with the possession of marijuana on the 200 block of Manitoba Street West.

Police dealt with an unwanted guest on the 1200 block of Willow Avenue where a woman was taken somewhere else for the night. Police charged a man with driving over .08 and also brought an intoxicated man to cells. He was detained until sober.

Fire calls

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded a grass fire in the R.M. of Moose Jaw at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Fire crews responded to a service call on the 1000 block of Francis Street.

Engines also responded to a barn fire in the R.M. of Moose Jaw.
