Friday was bittersweet for Grade 3 student Ann-Marie Rouault. Although proud she had raised $1,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, she was sad that the person she raised the money for was no longer with her to share her joy.

The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 43 calls for service between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, including nine 911 calls, two breaches of court orders and one warrant executed.
Police dealt with a three-vehicle motor vehicle accident on the 100 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast at 7 a.m. There is approximately $20,000 damage and one vehicle was towed. One person was charged for driving without due care.
There was also a single vehicle accident on the No. 1 Highway West. There were two minor injuries. One vehicle was towed and one ticket was issued for driving without due care and attention.
Two adult men were found to be in possession of stolen property, one on the 100 block of Manitoba Street West at 9:23 .m. and the other on the 100 block of High Street West at 9:29 a.m. Both men were charged and released for court at a later date.
There were two thefts of cigarettes. The first was on the zero block of Wood Lily Drive at 5:45 p.m. The second was on the 1600 block of Main Street North just after 6 p.m. In both cases, an adult man was brought to police cells, held until sober and then charged for theft and breach of court orders. Both men were released for court at a later date.
Police dealt with two instances of mischief to a motor vehicle. The first, on the 100 block of Second Avenue Northwest, happened sometime in the last two days. An unknown substance was put on the hood of the vehicle that caused paint to chip. There is minor damage to the paint.
The second mischief occurred on the 1000 block of Monk Avenue at 4:30 a.m. Sometime overnight Saturday and into Sunday, the rear window of a vehicle was smashed out. There is approximately $300 damage.
An adult man was found to be in possession of marijuana on the zero block of Fairford Street West. He was charged and released for court at a later date.
Police helped locate a 12-year-old, who was located soon after and returned home safely.
Police dealt with three intoxicated persons. One intoxicated man was found lying in a washroom on the zero block of Main Street North at 4:39 p.m. Moose Jaw EMS took him to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.
Police helped the EMS with an intoxicated woman at 10:43 p.m. on the 1200 block of Main Street North. She was taken to a family member’s residence to be cared for until sober.
The third instance was an intoxicated man found lying in the street on the zero block of Main Street North at 1:34 a.m. Police picked him up and he was held in the cells until he was sober.
