Scholarships and a surprising donation are getting 15 people to Invisible Children’s Fourth Estate Leadership Summit in Los Angeles, Calif., from Aug. 8-11. Four chaperones and 11 youth from Joe’s Place Youth Centre are having their conference fees paid for by Invisible Children. “We were personally invited,” said Leanne Young, the female outreach and mentorship worker at Joe’s Place. – June 4, 2013

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to one call for service between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. It involved alarms ringing on the 200 block of Mulberry Lane.
The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 42 calls for service between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, including five 911 calls, four disputes, one noise complaint, one dangerous driver and one adult male was charged with a breach of his court order.
Police also seized drugs in the possession of an individual on the zero block of Coteau Street West. The drugs were destroyed.
Still under investigation is a break and enter into a garage on the 400 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest. Cleaning items were allegedly stolen between Sunday and Tuesday afternoon.
