Fire calls

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to one call for service between 7 a.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday involving a house fire on the 1100 block of First Avenue Northeast.

All residents inside the home escaped safety, but two cats died and another received significant burns and was treated by EMS. 

Damage is estimated at $150,000 and the fire is still under investigation.

Police calls

The Moose Jaw Police Service received several dozen calls for service between 7 a.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, including five disputes, two thefts of a vehicle, two additional thefts, a disturbance, a collision, a complaint of mischief and harassing calls, and a call about two individuals unlawfully entering vehicles.

Police charged a driver in connection with the collision for making a left turn from the wrong lane. They charged an individual involved in one of the disputes with a breach of court order. A woman was charged with cause disturbance and resisting arrest.

Police continue to investigate the theft, the complaint of mischief and harassing phone calls, and a house fire on the 1100 block of First Avenue Northeast.
