Between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, the Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 53 calls for service, including five 911 calls, two curfew checks and five parking issues.

At the 400 block of Thatcher Drive near Wal-Mart, there was a collision between two vehicles just before 1 p.m. Friday. There were three injuries with two transported to hospital. Police issued one ticket for fail to yield.

Earlier that morning, just before 11:30 a.m., there was also a collision at the Trans-Canada Highway and Thatcher Drive East intersection. It was reportable to police because an out-of-province license was involved.

Friday night around 11:30 p.m., there was a single vehicle collision with the curb after being run off the road by another driver at the 400 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest. The vehicle was towed and it is still under investigation.

Police charged three youth with shoplifting after catching them with more than $500 worth of merchandise at the zero block of Thatcher Drive East. The youth were released to their parents with a later court date.

Police handled three instances of impaired driving. In the first instance on the 800 block of Caribou Street East, a man blew twice the legal limit for driving and was charged with exceeding .08 and impaired driving. His vehicle was also towed.

Another man blew over the legal limit and was charged with the same charges. Police issued him tickets for misuse of plates and driving an unregistered vehicle.

The final instance on the 100 block of Fairford Street West involved a man who refused to provide a roadside breath sample. He was held in cells until sober and was charged with refusal and impaired driving.

Police dealt with two disputes, one over the ownership of a bicycle and the other over loaning a phone to a friend. The first was mediated and the second was because of a friend not giving the phone back promptly enough. The theft was unfounded and the phone was returned.

Police responded to two dogs fighting and warned both owners. On the 300 block of Main Street North, police took a man to cells after finding him passed out at a local restaurant. He was held until sober.

A woman was found possessing drugs on the 800 block of Caribou Street East. She was released with a later court appearance set.

A group of kids caused a disturbance on the 400 block of Moose Square. There were also two instances of mischief — an ex-friend who is a suspect in shattering a windshield and a passenger who kicked the window out of a cab. Both are still under investigation.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to two calls between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday.

Just before 1 p.m. crews responded to the 400 block of Thatcher Drive East for a motor vehicle accident.

At 5:45 p.m., engines responded to the 1100 block of Currie Crescent for activated fire alarms.
