A Times-Herald investigation into the contract and salary of former city manager Garry McKay, whose employment with the city was terminated June 13, has revealed that council’s decision to seek new leadership will come with a hefty price tag.

Moose Jaw Police Service

The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 59 calls between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, including seven 911 calls, three alarm calls, four bar checks, four warrants executed, three breaches of court orders and four assist other police service.

At 4:45 a.m. Sunday, a window was smashed out of a vehicle and a man-door to a shop on the 200 block of North Service Road.

 Police dealt with a neighbourhood dispute on the 1100 block of Iroquois Drive at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The complainant was advised to contact the city for bylaw clarification.

Police also handled a dog on the loose, did a well-being check and mediated three disputes.

During a traffic stop at the 1600 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest on Saturday at 9 p.m. police made an alcohol screening device demand. The result was a pass and the subject was not impaired.

 Police dealt with two intoxicated men, one of which was arrested on outstanding warrants. Both men were held in cells until sober.

After three calls for noise complaints, police issued a man a ticket under the noise bylaw on the 600 block of Fairford Street East.

Police also sent a man on his way after a dispute with an ex. Police dealt with an unwanted guest and the man was left with a friend upon police request.

Police arrested a man after finding him damaging planters on the zero block of River Street West. He was brought to cells until sober and was charged with mischief.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department had no calls for service between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.
