Every John Howard Society (JHS) staff person and volunteer across Canada has been challenged to help the Calgary branch's residential facility, the Bedford House. The Moose Jaw branch of the JHS has accepted this challenge and plans on having a car wash at Super 'B' Truck and RV Wash on July 21. —July 9, 2013

Fire calls

The Moose Jaw Fire Department received a single call for service between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Engines from Headquarters Station were dispatched to the 500 block of Thatcher Drive East for a hazardous materials call.

Police calls

The Moose Jaw Police Service received 48 calls for service between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, including two disputes, two collisions, a theft, a hit and run, a complaint of threats, a dangerous driver complaint and an unwanted guest report.

Police charged four individuals with breaches. In connection to one of the collisions a driver was charged with unsafe backing up. Following an investigation, an individual was also charged in connection with the threats.

Police continue to investigate the dangerous driving complaint, theft and hit and run.
