Kids were running down their driveways to see what the commotion was about Monday evening in downtown Moose Jaw.

Cat calls were being made, and horns were being honked. Cars were even pulling over just to see what was going on.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is one of Canada's largest and most effective health charities, investing more than $1.39 billion in heart and stroke research over the last 60 years. Since then the death rate from heart disease and stroke has declined by more than 75 per cent. This makes them an important organization because:

-Every 7 minutes in Canada, someone dies from heart disease or stroke.

-There are an estimated 70,000 heart attacks each year in Canada.

-Almost 16,000 Canadians die each year as a result of a heart attack, most occurring out of hospital.

-Nine out of 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke (including smoking, alcohol, physical inactivity, obesity, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes).
